Antonio Larosa has been selected by Vinitaly to be the first designer to create a product using a brand new, experimental and environmentally friendly material. The result is Bacchus, a piece of furniture created to test a special fabric made entirely with the skins, seeds and stalks of the grapes that are obtained during the production of wine. Bacchus was installed at Vinitaly -the word’s largest wine show- to test the reliability and performance of this new material.
The collection, crafted in Italy by Michieli, was designed last year by Larosa for the 50th anniversary of the prestigious wine show, it consists of 14 assembled upholstered units to resemble grapes and leaf.
Is this new material good and strong enough to have a place in a real profitable market? Time and…Bacchus will tell.
