In this post I would like to share a few images of my Isola, the world’s first biophilic furniture collection. Designed in 2011 for Florida-based Benchmark Contract Furniture, Isola has recently risen in popularity due to the big biophilic design trend (design that aims at creating a connection with nature).
For this modular collection I was inspired by a family trip to the Caribbean. “It would be nice to be able to bring a little island inside a building” I thought while on the beach sipping margaritas. Few seconds later, the idea of Isola was born! The distinctive, flexible design allows for incorporation of trees and plants …and we all know that bringing nature indoors can improve productivity and happiness!
A unique, modular seating system specifically designed for public spaces such as lobbies, airports, hotels and shopping centers. Isola is also available with closed center. Welded tubular steel frame, seat and back in high density polyurethane foam. Designed in Arizona, ethically manufactured in Italy, available worldwide.
Isola was featured in many publications including in the renowned Passenger Terminal World (two-page article) and a full-page article in the prestigious Dubai-based magazine Commercial Interior Design. Custom sizes and finishes available.
